Last week, we were very short on money, and we had a grand total of $AU50 for groceries. Needless to say, there were no luxuries! In fact, the kids put up with a watery Corned Silverside & Vegetable Soup most of the week. Nutritious, but not very tasty!
They also made do with powdered milk (ugh!) on their brekky and mighty-might (a cheap version of vegemite) on their lunch.
Anyway, since I did not hear a single word of complaint about it, I decided to give them a special treat this week. So, tomorrow night we are cooking Burgers and Fries, to be followed by Jelly, Banana & Triple Chock ice-cream. They have real milk for their cereal and peanut butter and jam for sandwiches.
I even manages to stretch for some doughnuts and home-brand Tiny Teddies!
And this week’s menu doesn’t include a single soup meal…lol.
