When I was in school, I had a friend who had the most beautiful handwriting. Seriously, it was such a pleasure to read anything he had written that I would look for any excuse to receive notes from him. His handwriting was very close to calligraphy, but easier to read.
I admire anyone who can write so beautifully. My handwriting is terrible. It is messy and all over the place – an ugly scrawl that is difficult to read, even for myself. In fact, I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve revisited something I’ve written and been unable to read a word of it. Perhaps it is a representation of the chaos in my mind.
Those with calmer, more tranquil personalities tend to have much neater writing, all beautifully sloped, sized just right with uniform strokes and perfect loops. But not all lovely writing is easy to read. In fact, I find the old letters and cards the most pretty to look at and the most difficult to make sense of.
What is your handwriting like? Is it messy like mine or would you make your teacher proud?
