I just want to take this opportunity to apologise to those people who were looking forward to part 2 of X53Za. There is not going to be a part 2 to this short story. Before you all mob me, let me explain.
After writing X53Za Part 1, the story simply would not leave me alone. And the story that is calling to me is not satisfied with being a simple two-part short story. Therefore, I have decided to take this story and run with it.
I have shelved Jack & Jill, the novel I was originally going to write for NaNoWriMo. Instead, I will be writing a novel length version of X53Za, under the working title of Planet X.
The basic premise is as follows:
The world is overpopulated. People are being encouraged to colonise a new world, but they have been lied to. Lauded as the new Eden, Planet X is actually an extermination camp designed to eradicate the Earth’s surplus population.
When Sam Bletchley, unsatisfied with his mundane life, joins the latest expedition to Planet X, he is expecting a little danger, a little excitement, and a lot of hard work. He is not expecting to play the hero to a ragtag group of survivors, as he fights for his very right to live.
I fully intend to complete this novel, even if it isn’t finished during NaNoWriMo. I will keep you all updated during every step of the process. Thank you all for your patience.
