Favourite LGBTQI pairing using canon characters
Reading fan-fiction doesn’t just allow us to explore the possible outcomes of different decisions or events, it also allows us to explore the characters in different ways. On of the scenarios authors often write about is how things would play out if two characters become involved romantically, or refrain from doing so, as the case may be.
This aspect of fan-fiction writing is often used to explore the concepts of gender and sexuality, resulting in many pairings on the LGBTQI spectrum. As with any fan-fiction reader, I have my favourite pairings, but this post is specifically looking for my favourite LGBTQI+ pairings, so that is where I shall concentrate my efforts.
So here they are, folks, my favourite LGBTQI+ pairings using canon characters from the Harry Potter universe, including a story recommendation for each. I’m always on the lookout for good LGBTQI+ Harry Potter fanfics so, if you know of any, I’d love for you to post them in the comments.
L —> Minds on Fire (Hermione/Ginny): Seasonal by WolfHawk
G —> Power and Pride (Harry/Lucius): Lark Series (Je Te Plumerais, The Exaltation of the Lark & Birdseye) by Nimori
B —> Harry/Hermione/Daphne: I haven’t read a lot of stories with overtly bi characters, but I guess Harry Potter – Three to Backstep by Sinyk fits this category.
T —> Orange Crush (Harry/Ginny): I haven’t read a lot of trans stories in fan-fiction, but the one that stood out to me the most from what I have read was Fresh Starts, Old Hearts by centreoftheselights.
Cross-Dressing —> Power and Pride (Harry/Lucius): I’ve only read one story in this category, and that is the Jade Green Eyes Trilogy (Mythic Alliance, Jade Green Eyes & Beyond Expectations) by Jendra. The cross-dressing doesn’t begin until the second story, but you really need to read the first story to understand what’s happening in the other two.
QI+ —> I haven’t read any other types of LGBTQI+ stories, so if you have any stories to recommend (especially pansexual), I’d love to hear from you.
Well, this seems to have turned from my favourite LGBTQI+ pairings to my favourite LGBTQI+ recommendations. Oh, well, you can still glean my favourite pairings from what I’ve written, so there’s no point in changing it.
