Best story you read for the first time in the last twelve months
There are three stories that have really stood out to me in the past twelve months. It is interesting that only one of them is written in third person, given that this is generally my preferred perspective.
The absolute best story on this list is one I read quite recently. It is a story that will have even the most hardened reader reaching for their tissues. That story is The Next Twenty-Four Hours by Saras_Girl. It is written in an interesting combination of first and second person perspective and relates the heartbreak of the final twenty-four hours before the execution of a loved one.
Coming in at a (very) close second is Draco Dormiens Nunquam Titillandus by EchoVanity, a second person perspective of Harry’s thoughts on seeing Draco’s corpse in the morgue. The contrast between his inner turmoil and outward control is absolutely heart-wrenching.
Finally, a story that I feel is well worth mentioning here is Strange Visitors From Another Century by Izzaro, one of the best ‘Harry time-travels back to Founders’ era’ stories I have ever read.
