The Pelican History of Medieval Europe by Maurice Keen: Dot Points

Rating: 2.5 out of 5.

At 321 pages, this wasn’t a long book, but it felt endless, as the length of this post can attest. Some chapters were easier to read than others, but overall this was a rather heavy read. There were a lot of unfamiliar words for me to look up, which was interesting, and I did learn a lot. Still, I probably wouldn’t recommend this book to beginners in the subject as they’d lose interest pretty quickly.
