His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, aged 99, passed away yesterday morning after several years of failing health. Prince Philip, Britain’s longest serving Royal Consort, is survived by his wife the Queen and his children Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward, along with their families.
The loss of Prince Philip will be felt by many people around the world, but none so deeply as his friends and family. Due to public health concerns, Her Majesty the Queen has requested that, instead of gathering to lay flowers and wreaths, well-wishers make a donation to one of the many charities close to Prince Philip’s heart, or leave a message on the online Book of Condolences, which can be found on the Royal Family’s official website.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt condolences to the Royal Family. I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of His Royal Highness. The world is poorer for his loss.
Out of respect for the death of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Rafferty’s Rules will be observing a period of mourning. Sidebar lists will continue to be updated, however no blog posts will be published during this time. Normal activities will resume on the first Monday in May.
I apologise for any distress this may cause.
