The window was always closed.
Life unfolded.
Babies grew into children grew into adults grew into marriage grew into families grew old succumbed to death.
Families came and went came and went came and went came and went.
Years filled with laughter tears love anger fear relief desire exhaustion pain.
Paper gave way to pink gave way to blue gave way to eggshell gave way to white.
Blinds replaced drapes replaced shutters replaced cotton replaced lace.
Time flowed.
The window was always closed.
